Beneath the waves.

When the sky grows grey, the thunder rolls, and the heavens cry, on go the sweat pants. Off comes the makeup. Down roll the tears. Out go your cares. The only thing to worry about is how many boxes of tissues are left, how much ice cream remains, and which chick flick will be watched next after this one.

Questions rolling in your mind. Not getting out of bed. Well, maybe just to get one more box of chocolate to replace the one you just inhaled.

On comes Patsy Cline, Norah Jones, John Mayer. You push the show tunes and upbeat tempos farther back into the dark abyss that is underneath your bed.

Rainy days.

Some people put on there rain boots and jump in mud puddles, catching drops of precipitation on their tongues as they trot along. Then, there are the others. Those of us who see it as that day of reality where we can take off the everyday masks we wear, and grow angry with the world.

Sometimes it hard, to follow your heart. Tears don't mean you're losing. Everybody's bruising. Just stay true to who you are. <3

Some days, you think you know exactly what you're doing.
But then, you turn around, examine your past, and the questions come flooding in.

What was I thinking?

Why did I do this?

Don't beat yourself up. Truth is, there is absolutely nothing you can do to change anything that has happened in the past.

All you can do is hold your head up high and look forward, because you can't rewind and try again.
All of the mistakes that you've made in the past, lead you to be the person you are now. So, live your live to the complete fullest. Don't live in fear. Don't live in regret. Just be confident and strong in who you are and strive everyday to do your best and be who you are.

Breaking the surface.

Everyone has something different inside.
Ask a doctor this, they'll deny it. They'll say "Generally, people are the same beneath the surface. Under the epidermis is blood, bones, and muscle."
I'm not talking about anatomy. Everyone has something inside of them, a little bit that makes them who they are.
What is that little bit? Hm. Tough. I say, it's a mixture of love, endurance, and passion. Perhaps that's just me. Maybe it's just different for everyone. But one thing is for sure. That thing that makes us unique, it's not just by chance. It's there for a reason. It guides us along with our everyday lives, going unnoticed. It separates ourselves from one another in a different way.
I think, while we are swirling around in the womb, God reaches down and touches us. I think he puts that thing inside of us and seals it up so it will stay with us until the day we die. It survives within us, living harmoniously with our soul, and protected by our heart.
This thing is what motivates us. It's what gives us hope. It gives a whole new outlook on the word "determination."

This isn't appearance, this isn't DNA, and this goes deeper than personality.
